Stanley Krute
Local photographer and computer GP Stanley Krute catches everything from youth sports to community theater to birds and wildlife to local events. Artistically he considers himself a lifelong student in the schools of Norman Rockwell and Johannes Vermeer.
Chuck Nelson
Photographer and author Chuck Nelson was born and raised in Siskiyou County. As Chuck says, My rural upbringing gave me a strong appreciation for God's creation and a desire to capture and share elements of it through photography.
His book entitled Life at the End of a Dirt Road recounts his childhood on the Nelson Ranch and his photographs can be found in galleries through Siskiyou County and on the Chuck Nelson Photography website.
Siskiyou County Museum
Historical photos provided courtesy of the Siskiyou County Museum. The Siskiyou County Museum was built in 1950 by the county to collect, preserve, disseminate and interpret the history of the area for future generations. Located within one hour of Lava Beds National Monument, the Marble Mountain Wilderness Area, majestic 14,162 foot Mount Shasta, and numerous gold-bearing rivers, the Museum features exhibits detailing Siskiyou County's colorful history from Indian cultures to 20th century themes. The Museum is an interpretive center for the history of Siskiyou County and includes exhibits, programs, and a research library.
